Truck Driving Bans in Spain 2026 May ban ngayon

Na-verify ang data: 2026-07-10 · lokal na oras: 21:20

May truck ban ba sa Spain ngayon?

Oo — may aktibong ban ngayon mismo (hanggang 23:59 lokal na oras).

Unlike Germany, Austria or France, Spain has NO nationwide blanket weekend truck ban. DGT Resolution BOE-A-2026-1255 restricts vehicles over 7,500 kg GVW only on specific listed road sections and dates (Anexo II) — there is no rule closing "all roads" on a given Saturday or Sunday. Recurring corridors include: the N-230 near the France border (Fri 17:00–24:00 towards France / Sun 13:00–20:00 away, Jan–Mar & Dec), Andalusia's Huelva/Cádiz beach roads (Sat 10:00–14:00, Jun–Aug), the Huelva coast + Cantabria's A-8 (Sat/Sun/holidays 11:00–22:00, Jul–Aug), and a cluster of Madrid-entry roads on summer Sunday evenings (28 Jun–6 Sep). Major holidays (Easter week, 1 May, 12 October, Christmas period) each get their own one-off corridor tables, mostly around Madrid exit routes, not modelled here in full — check the DGT calendar for exact dates. ADR (hazardous-goods) transit must use the RIMP route network. DGT rules apply in most of Spain; Catalonia, the Basque Country and Navarra set their own separate restrictions. Legal basis: DGT Resolution of 14 January 2026 (BOE, 20 January 2026).

May truck ban ba sa Spain ngayon?

Oo — may aktibong ban ngayon mismo (hanggang 23:59 lokal na oras).

Can trucks drive in Spain on Sundays?

Mostly yes. Spain has no nationwide Sunday truck ban — unlike Germany, Austria or France. Restrictions apply only to specific listed road sections and dates (DGT Anexo II), e.g. the N-230 near the France border (Jan–Mar/Dec), Andalusia's Huelva coast (Jul–Aug), and Madrid-entry roads on summer Sunday evenings (28 Jun–6 Sep). Outside those corridors and dates, Sunday driving is unrestricted.

Is there a Saturday truck ban in Spain?

Not a general one. A handful of specific roads are restricted on Saturdays: Andalusia's beach corridor (A-49/AP-4/N-4, Jun–Aug 10:00–14:00) and the Huelva coast + Cantabria's A-8 (Jul–Aug 11:00–22:00). Roads outside these lists have no Saturday restriction.

Are there extra bans in summer?

Yes, but they're route-specific, not nationwide: the Huelva-coast/Cantabria corridor (Sat/Sun/holidays, Jul–Aug, 11:00–22:00) and the Madrid-entry corridors on summer Sunday evenings (28 Jun–6 Sep, 21:00–23:00). Major holidays inside summer (e.g. 15 August) simply fall under whichever weekday rule already applies that date.

Which vehicles are affected?

Trucks and combinations over 7,500 kg GVW, special transports, permit-required vehicles, and ADR (hazardous goods) vehicles with orange plates, on the specific road sections and dates listed in DGT Anexo II.

Do DGT rules apply across all of Spain?

No. National DGT rules apply in most of Spain; Catalonia, the Basque Country and Navarra have their own traffic competence and publish separate ban calendars, not covered by this national resolution.

What rules apply to hazardous goods (ADR)?

Wherever a general-cargo restriction above applies, ADR vehicles face the same or stricter windows (Sundays/holidays 08:00–24:00; holiday eves except Saturday 13:00–24:00), and long-distance transit must additionally use the RIMP route network (Anexo IV).

What is the fine for breaching a ban?

A serious offence: €200 fine and up to 4 licence points. Pay within 20 days and it drops to €100 (no appeal). In the worst cases fines can reach €2,000 with vehicle immobilisation.

Are there separate bans for Easter, 1 May, 12 October or Christmas?

Yes — each major holiday period gets its own dedicated corridor table in the DGT resolution (Anexo II section b), mostly around Madrid's exit/entry routes and a handful of provincial roads, with dates and hours specific to that holiday. This page does not itemise those one-off tables; check the official DGT annual resolution for the exact dates.
