Belarus has no nationwide Sunday or public holiday driving ban for trucks. Heavy goods vehicles may run on every day of the year. One country-wide seasonal restriction applies: from 25 May to 31 August, vehicles with a maximum single axle load over 6 t are kept off the public road network between 11:00 and 20:00 on days when the air temperature rises above 25 °C. Toll roads are excluded from that restriction.

Spring axle-load limits

Belarus limits axle loads during the spring thaw. The road authorities announce the dates and the permitted loads each year, and the limits are applied to local roads rather than to the republican network. The dates move with the weather, so they are published shortly before the thaw rather than fixed in the calendar.

What the temperature rule means in practice

The summer restriction is a weather trigger, not a fixed calendar ban. Between 25 May and 31 August a heavy vehicle can run all day if the air stays below 25 °C, and is held off the network from 11:00 to 20:00 on the days it does not. Plan long transits across Belarus for the early morning or the evening during hot spells.
